Birds of All Kinds

Photographing birds has been a difficult wish of mine... they're so hard to get close to! But I'm finally getting some pretty good pictures of them, thanks to a camera with far zoom. (:

                                                 These bluebirds are so adorable!

I didn't get any good pictures of bluebirds on these wires, but I put it on anyway to show how fluffy it is... maybe because it's winter?

I don't know what kind of bird this is, but it looks similar to a catbird or mockingbird...
My little bird- expert brother thinks this might be a Rufous- sided Towhee.

Working on getting good pictures these cardinals I've seen around my house. They are much more wary than robins. (: This one right above is pretty good though.

This blue-jay and woodpecker in my old Minnesota home, both liked our sunflowers. (: Little pests!

Plum and Lemon Cupcakes

I followed a basic cake recipe to get the essential ingredients right, then added other things to make my own original recipe. (: These may look more like a muffin... but they are very much cupcakes! If you want, you can make a lemon frosting instead of lemon glaze.

                                               Lemon and Plum Cupcakes

               2 1\4 C flour
                     1 1\2 C sugar
1 1\2 t baking soda (or baking power; either will work)
                              1 t salt
                     2 eggs
1 C plum juice, from canned plums
                     1 stick of butter, melted
                     about 1 T lemon juice
1 C almonds, chopped or partially ground
                                 ----------------------------
Make a lemon glaze or frosting for the top.

Mix together dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, combine all wet ingredients. Stir both mixtures together; don't overly mix. Fill muffin tins about 1\3 of the way up. Bake at 350 degrees for about 22 minutes. Let cool before glazing or frosting.

note: If you prefer a not so sweet cupcake, then you can cut the sugar because the plum juice has sugar in it too. Or you can just use milk and leave the plum out altogether. (:

Well, I hope you try these if it sounds good to you. They are not only good tasting, but they also have
protein, a good amount of fiber, and nothing at all that's unhealthy! :)

Random Things About Me

Hi, everyone. I couldn't think of any brilliant things to post about, so I decided to do one on me... well, things I hope for, dream of; things that interest me, or whatever... you know. Just a bunch of randomness. :)

I would love to go to Italy someday!

Another place I'd like to go is Israel, because it would be awesome to walk where Jesus once walked. Imagine walking where God himself had been! crazy!

I think old camera's are quite interesting... it would be really fun to have one!

Owning a horse is a little fantasy wish of mine... I don't think I'd be very good at taking care of one!

I occasionally enjoy making food, especially when I create my own recipes. :)

I envy those who do ballet and the like. (:
Wish I could do that! :P

Someday I'd like to find my shining knight (;

another someday- I'd like to be a professional photographer

okay, don't really need to put a picture for this one: tsunamis creep me out. Hardly look at a picture of one without shuddering!
I like to sew

This would be my car... maybe. (:

Well anyway, thanks for enduring my randomness. Hope it wasn't too boring. :) I hope to get some more interesting posts in the near future. :)

Eyes of Everia series

I know this blog is supposed to be centered on photography... but I like to do a ton more things than just take pictures! Like reading, for example. (;

This is my new favorite series. It was amazing!! I read the first one, The Ryn,( my review) and now I'm nearing the end of the second, The Remedy.

This is the third.. (so exited to read it!)

Oh, so these books are fairytale\fantasy\ allegory. I don't know if many people who read this post will be interested since my blog is not really about books... I guess I want it to be about everything, though, so...
Anyhow, If you like fairytale, fantasy, or allegory, then you should try these awesome books!
