Frozen Banana Bites

A Summer Season's Sensation! My little brother and I made these frozen banana treats the other day, and they tasted good! Actually, they are very similar to my Peanut Butter and Banana Freezer Bars. An old amateur post of mine... *sticks out tongue* But the recipe is good. I should actually re-post some of my favorite recipes; do a little revision. ;) But yeah, I'm supposed to be sharing my little recipe today. So. Here it is.

INGREDIENTS

About 2 bananas, sliced (fairly thick)

1\4 cup peanut butter

1 Tbsp honey

1\2 cup yogurt

1 1\2 tbsp honey

1 1\2 tbsp cocoa

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix peanut butter and yogurt mixtures in separate bowls. Put a bit of peanut butter mixture on a banana slice and top it with another slice. Repeat with all bananas. Dip and cover with yogurt mixture and place on a cookie sheet. Place in freezer until fully frozen.

Enjoy as a healthy little summertime treat!

\\ A great snack for kids\\ A great snack for anyone else\\ Make it easier to eat by cutting them in half after frozen\\ Be cooler than me and try putting a popsicle stick in between the banana slices\\

Tropical Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

Happy Saturday! Are you burning up from pre-summer heat yet? Well if you are, you're in luck, because I have a five-ingredient smoothie recipe for y'all today.

I made a smoothie yesterday for me and some of my family members, and decided I might as well take pictures and do a post. I need to get back into recipe posting. :P

Tropical Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

INGREDIENTS:

About 1 1\2 cups frozen strawberries

About 2 1\2 cups fresh pineapple

Half of a frozen banana

1 cup plain yogurt

1 cup of water *

INSTRUCTIONS:

Throw everything into your blender and blend until smooth.
Enjoy!

Serves: about 7 small glasses- less for large glasses
* If you like your smoothies thicker, I would suggest doing less water.

My Life Lately

Hi everyone! I'm doing a post on what I've been doing lately. A life update, of sorts. ;)

For one, the school year is coming to an end. I'm am nearing the completion on tenth grade. ;) ... hopefully I did enough. O.o Then, two more years of school till I graduate!

We've gotten lots of strawberries from the Amish recently. :) We froze whole strawberries and made strawberry jam. Me and my siblings mostly just prepared the berries. My mom did the other work. I did more of the freezer strawberry jam, though. :)

And here's my basil. Isn't this a pretty picture with the jam in the background? :) I think it would me fun to have an herb\spice and flower garden. ;)

Yesterday I had to take some aerial pictures.

So I climbed up this little tree with my camera. :D After my brother went up. Our cat came up and joined us later. ;)

Wouldn't it be nice to read up here? :D As long as you could get into a comfortable position.

Today I tried something, which is an idea I got from another blog.

First, I cooked some rolled oats on a plate with milk, water, and some honey.

Then I put some of it in a little bowl.

I put smashed up frozen banana on top, and topped it off with shredded coconut (been eating that a lot lately- its so good. ;) ), and a tiny bit of cocoa.

And it was GOOD! :D It may sound weird, but I really enjoyed it. That coconut, ahh, it's so yummy on there! :)

I'm also almost done this box\chest that I've been making for awhile in a woodworking class. All I have to do is put on the hinges and latch. :) Isn't it nice? I had a lot of help though. :)

I just had to add a picture of the frozen yogurt I had today at my brother's football game. :) It was watermelon sorbet with mini gummy bears- perfect for this hot day. There were some festivities going on at the park, so... yea. :)

Well anyhow, I hope that you found this post interesting! ;)

Season's Sensation: Delicious Lemon Waffles

I was babysitting my youngest siblings today, and I decided to make waffles for lunch. :) So I found a recipe online to make, but I changed a few things, including the addition of lemon juice and zest. Ever had lemon waffles? This might be my first time, and they were good. Though I think maybe I should've put a bit more lemon... there's no measurement for it, so add however much you want. :)

DELICIOUS LEMON WAFFLES

   4 cups flour

   8 tsp baking powder

   1\2 tsp salt

   4 eggs

   1 tbsp honey

   2 3\4 cups milk
   3\4 cup water

   3\4 cup coconut oil

   small squeeze of lemon juice

   lemon zest

 ____________________________

Beat eggs and add other wet ingredients. *

Mix the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones and mix well.

Cook on a waffle iron. (you can grease the waffle iron, but I don't

think it needs it.)

Enjoy!

* (melt the coconut oil and then add it to the wet ingredients, or add it to the dry ingredients much the way you'd add butter to the dry ingredients of biscuits.)

If you'd like to try a lemon version of one of these (above), use these instructions below. I tried it, with the lemon waffles, and it was good. :)

 FROZEN YOGURT LEMON WAFFLE SANDWICHES

2 waffle squares

lemon, yogurt, and honey to taste

Mix three last ingredients together and pour onto  one waffle square. Place other on top and put in the freezer until well frozen.

Oh, and did you notice my pretty new blog design? :) I like it. I hope that lasts, because I'm usually enthusiastic about my new blog designs... then I want a new one. :D He...he. I may never settle for one design.

Anyhow, hope you enjoyed this post! :)

Season's Sensation: Frozen Yogurt Waffle Sandwiches

Here's the recipe(s) for these Frozen Yogurt Waffle Sandwiches. ;)
I need to make some waffles to keep in the freezer so I can make these a lot! Just as long as we always have yogurt.

It might make a good, light breakfast to make one of these the night before and take it out the next morning to eat. ;) Maybe let it thaw a bit too. It would probably be pretty hard sitting overnight in the freezer. :D

But they are definitely good snacks as well. And you know, frozen snacks with summer coming... ;)

FROZEN YOGURT WAFFLE SANDWICHES

  2 waffle squares (2\4 of a waffle)

  1\3 cup plain yogurt

  1\2 tbsp coconut sugar

FOR PEACH VERSION ADD:

2 slices of canned peaches, cubed

a pinch of cinnamon

1\4 tsp vanilla

FOR BANANA VERSION ADD:

1\4 of a banana

1\2 tsp vanilla

DIRECTIONS:

Mix everything (except the waffles, of course) in a small bowl,

then carefully pour on top one waffle square. Put the other on top

and put in the freezer until frozen. Enjoy!

Photo Gallery: Rocky Lake Beach

     Hi, all! (:
Yesterday I went to the lake with most of my family and we beached the boat, so I got some lovely lake\beach pictures here. The rockiness isn't nice on your feet, but it makes a pretty picture. ;)
For these first few, I set the camera on "French Style" mode, hence the orang-ish coloring. One of my favorite "special" settings. :)

So there you go. (: This picture above is a tug boat pushing two, (I think), barges. Something cool to see. (:

lemon juice, + lemon slices

cucumber slices

cinnamon

stevia (optional)

This adds some refreshment on a hot summer day. The cinnamon was just a new idea... I don't now if I've had a drink like this with it, but it fits perfectly. (:

Season's Sensation: Peanut Butter and Banana Freezer Bars

Peanut Butter and Banana Freezer Bars

1 banana

1\4 C ground almonds

about 1\4 tsps. vanilla

2 tsps. baking cocoa

3 T honey

1\2 C peanut butter

1\2 C Greek yogurt

small chunks of dark chocolate (use however much you want)

crust:

about 1C + 2 T ground oatmeal and your choice of nuts

3 T butter, melted

1 t baking cocoa

------------

In a medium bowl, mix banana into mush first, then add the rest of the ingredients. Put aside. Mix together ground oatmeal and nuts with cocoa in a 9x9 pan. Mix butter in and press down on bottom of pan. Pour ingredients from the bowl evenly over crust. Freeze until firm.

(keep in freezer until right before serving, because they become soft fast.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So there is another good summer treat. I made this up recently in another "baking challenge" with some of my younger siblings. It's quite fun. :D And the good thing about these is that they are both good and perfectly healthy. Its great to get a recipe like that where pretty much everything is good for you. :)
Well, better go now. :) :)

Season's Sensation: Watermelon Slushies :)

Yay! Summer is finally about here. :D Sun starts burning hot... and school comes to and end! Swimming and free time... Reading, taking pictures and drawing the days away. Sounds great. ;D

Okay, so this blog kind of needs some organizing. Some of my posts tend to be a little bland, so I'm gona start doing posts every once in a while called "Season's Sensation", featuring a seasonal ideas, food, crafts... I don't know, whatever I think of. Something planned will do my blog some good. :)
And I'll call my photography dedicated posts, "Photo Gallery" posts, or something. Okay, now I've got some organization. So that's that. :)

So first I have this "summer sensational", delicious and refreshing treat to share here. :) Its perfect for the hot summer, so consider freezing some well ripened watermelon to make some of this with. Especially one that is over-ripe, and doesn't taste "the best" fresh.

And watermelon + lemon + cold = especially refreshing. ;D

So, here is how you can make this Watermelon Slushy:

                             *****
Fill blender with frozen watermelon chunks.

Add lemon juice to taste, 1 T sugar, and a pinch of salt.

Blend well. Melts fast, so eat it quickly. :)

                            *****

(Servings are about 4 or so, depending on your blender size, and how big a serving you want.)

Okay, so here are some pretty recent pictures...

Okay, there we have my first June post! :) Hopefully I'll get some more good Season's Sensation ideas.

Happy June, everyone! :) :)
