Photo Gallery: A Trip to the Zoo

We went to the zoo with family at the beginning of this week. :) Even though I'm fifteen, I haven't been to a zoo in a long time, and my youngest siblings hadn't even been to one before! Yea, that shows you how often we do stuff! ;P

So I got to take lots of animal pictures! My favorites are probably the giraffes and the white parrot sort of bird. You'll see them below. ;)

Wouldn't you love to find this creature in your backyard? Ha. Yikes! :P
I just really like this one. :)

Flamingos are kind of funny birds. See how they tuck their beaks into their feathers? And they have those really skinny legs. How do they hold their body up, especially when they're standing on only one leg? (another strange habit, apparently. ;D )

Bamboo trees are pretty cool. :)

Then we have the cougars. Some of the kids were whistling with grass and stuff, which apparently interested one of the cougars, because it came right down to the fence!

And the giraffes. Aw, I really like them. :) See that one's long black tongue in the picture above? :D

Well, hope you enjoyed! :)

Photo Gallery: Rivers and Reflections

I took these pictures on Sunday, of a river and woods and all. It's been kind of summery lately. We went to the zoo on Monday, (which I'll post about) and it was really hot! Like in the 80's. In springtime. Crazy. :P

Here are the pictures. The last one is from another day. ;)

Hope you enjoyed the latest of my photo gallery! ;)

Photo Gallery: A Pretty Sunset

Here are some pictures I took of a pretty sunset the other day. :)

I like that orange glow... :)

Hope this post was interesting enough!

If you're bored, comment and tell me which picture you think is the best. :D

Season's Sensation: Delicious Lemon Waffles

I was babysitting my youngest siblings today, and I decided to make waffles for lunch. :) So I found a recipe online to make, but I changed a few things, including the addition of lemon juice and zest. Ever had lemon waffles? This might be my first time, and they were good. Though I think maybe I should've put a bit more lemon... there's no measurement for it, so add however much you want. :)

DELICIOUS LEMON WAFFLES

   4 cups flour

   8 tsp baking powder

   1\2 tsp salt

   4 eggs

   1 tbsp honey

   2 3\4 cups milk
   3\4 cup water

   3\4 cup coconut oil

   small squeeze of lemon juice

   lemon zest

Beat eggs and add other wet ingredients. *

Mix the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones and mix well.

Cook on a waffle iron. (you can grease the waffle iron, but I don't

think it needs it.)

Enjoy!

* (melt the coconut oil and then add it to the wet ingredients, or add it to the dry ingredients much the way you'd add butter to the dry ingredients of biscuits.)

If you'd like to try a lemon version of one of these (above), use these instructions below. I tried it, with the lemon waffles, and it was good. :)

 FROZEN YOGURT LEMON WAFFLE SANDWICHES

2 waffle squares

lemon, yogurt, and honey to taste

Mix three last ingredients together and pour onto  one waffle square. Place other on top and put in the freezer until well frozen.

Oh, and did you notice my pretty new blog design? :) I like it. I hope that lasts, because I'm usually enthusiastic about my new blog designs... then I want a new one. :D He...he. I may never settle for one design.

Anyhow, hope you enjoyed this post! :)

Season's Sensation: Frozen Yogurt Waffle Sandwiches

Here's the recipe(s) for these Frozen Yogurt Waffle Sandwiches. ;)
I need to make some waffles to keep in the freezer so I can make these a lot! Just as long as we always have yogurt.

It might make a good, light breakfast to make one of these the night before and take it out the next morning to eat. ;) Maybe let it thaw a bit too. It would probably be pretty hard sitting overnight in the freezer. :D

But they are definitely good snacks as well. And you know, frozen snacks with summer coming... ;)

FROZEN YOGURT WAFFLE SANDWICHES

  2 waffle squares (2\4 of a waffle)

  1\3 cup plain yogurt

  1\2 tbsp coconut sugar

FOR PEACH VERSION ADD:

2 slices of canned peaches, cubed

a pinch of cinnamon

1\4 tsp vanilla

FOR BANANA VERSION ADD:

1\4 of a banana

1\2 tsp vanilla

DIRECTIONS:

Mix everything (except the waffles, of course) in a small bowl,

then carefully pour on top one waffle square. Put the other on top

and put in the freezer until frozen. Enjoy!

Currently in April

I decided to do a currently post on what I've been doing in April. :) So... Enjoy taking a little peak into my current springtime life! :D

CURRENTLY READING:

Samara's Peril, book 3 in the Ilyon Chronicles Series by Jaye L. Knight

I'm advanced reading this, and it has been a great book! Of course... ;)
To see my reviews of the other books in the series, go to my "Book Reviews" page.

CURRENTLY WATCHING:

When Calls the Heart, season 3

I love this show! :) We've been buying it, and we have two episodes left... Ah, something adorable happened in the one we watched last night! <3

CURRENTLY EATING:

    Frozen Yogurt Waffle Sandwiches

I had this idea to take leftover waffles and freeze yogurt in between two. My and my little sister tried it, and it was good! :) I made a banana one yesterday, and a peach one today. I think they'd taste good for an easy breakfast. ;)
I'll put some recipes for this one here sometime, so yea... :)

                                    CURRENTLY DOING:

                                          Garage sale-ing! :)

By this, I mean what I did recently. We went to a bunch of garage sales in a "rich" subdivision on Saturday, and I got a lot of new clothes and a couple pairs of shoes... and a free purse. :D It was pretty good.

I'D ENJOY HEARING WHAT YOU'VE BEEN READING, WATCHING, EATING, DOING... WHATEVER. :D

Photo Gallery: A Trip to the Park

Hi, all! I went to the park with my older brother and sister the other day, and just had a nice time. :)
It was a new park I'd never been to, and it was really nice, and big. It had disc golf (why my brother wanted to go there ;) ), regular golf, fishing, playgrounds, tennis courts, lakes\ponds, and other things...

Like squirrels- SO MANY squirrels. They were cute! :) I even got some fairly good pictures.

And the pine trees. Ahhh... there is something nice about pine trees. Maybe its because Minnesota had lots of them. ;) Perhaps they feel more out-in-the-country, or something... I don't know. :)

I kind of like the composition in this shadow picture. :) (I'm not entirely sure I'm saying what I'm trying to :P)

Then I got to take some pictures of the geese there. Too bad I don't have a zoom lens. I could get way closer pictures!

 Anyhow, hope you enjoyed! :)
