A Dream Not Imagined Blog Tour

Hi everyone, today I'm participating in my sister's blog tour for A Dream Not Imagined, which is now published!! I'm also doing an interview of the main character. (:

About the Book

A MAID, a PRINCE, and a DUKE. A GARDENER, a STEPMOTHER, and a secret . . .

Ellie Abbington, a beautiful yet unassuming young woman, quietly longs for her life to change. Too privileged to associate with the servants—too underprivileged to associate with her own family; she dreams a dream of a prince and a happily ever after.

But it could be that her own stepsisters, conniving Dezmarie and easily-influenced Adelaide, are dreaming the same dream . . . of the same prince.

In the end, are dreams even all they're made out to be? Especially with deep and long-hidden secrets about to be unearthed?

A Dream Not Imagined is a non-magical fairytale novella based loosely on the classic tale of Cinderella.

Interview with the Cinderella of A Dream Not Imagined

What is one minor thing you would change about your life?
I would make so I didn’t have to occasionally talk personally with my father, Lord Thomas Abbington. He actually quite frightens me sometimes. And he reminds me that I’m not good enough—and neither was my mother.

Who is your best friend?
I’ve never had a best friend. But I do enjoy talking with other maids at the stream when we’re gathering water.

Where is your place of refuge?
I suppose my attic room. No one usually comes up there. Though my stepsisters do shriek in order to get my attention!

What two colors would you wear if you could attend a high society event?
Hmm, sky-blue or a soft pink. Blue, pink, and red are my favorite colors.

What do you feel your life purpose is?
I don’t really know my life purpose. I’m a disgrace. Only good enough to serve my family. Every day I get up and try to appease my irritable father, temperamental stepmother, and flighty stepsisters. *soft sigh* I dream of a change . . .

What food would you eat often if you could?
Fruit. I love the sweet and the tart, and just the deliciousness of them all!

What brings you the most happiness in your life?
A few carefree moments of laughing and teasing with fellow maids is always a bright spot in my days.

Which member of your family calls for you service the most?
Uh . . . most likely Dezmarie, my stepmother’s eldest daughter. She’s very serious about her outward appearance, and so always needs her hair brushed and styled. Or fresh water for her face. Or new accessories. I hesitate to say this aloud . . .  but she does rather have a lofty and demanding attitude.

What animal do you think is most beautiful?
Birds. They’re so vibrant and free. Free from society’s rules. Free from humans’ degrading or pitying comments. Free to simply be what God intended them to be, and live it to the fullest. I feel rather trapped—so when I see a bird, I see a spectacular beauty.
