"Old Fashioned" Buys and Other Randomness

Hi everyone! I'm just doing a random post today...

I turned fifteen yesterday, and found some awesome things at goodwill for my birthday present. :) (they are the first three pics and the Christy movies, BTW)

This lovely little pitcher and bowl for $4. Something like what a girl would have in her room to wash up in back then. :)

These adorable boots were $3. They look like what ladies would wear in the 1800's... or Mary Poppins. ;) love them. Makes me kind of wish to live in a time you wore boots like that, a blouse, and a full, ankle length skirt! <3

All of these are also from Goodwill:
This was only 50 cents. I've only read a little of this book, so I don't know if its good... hopefully- its a lovely cover. :)

All of these movies were 50 cents, I believe.

And a cute tea cup for 50 cents as well. I used it in a photo shoot:A Pixie's Picnic

So I highly recommend Goodwill. ;) Those are like my favorite stores- consignment and garage sales... in other words, I like cheep stuff. Good stuff. :D

Here is what I had for my birthday dessert. :) Perhaps I'll do a "season's sensation" post on it. I have to find out the recipe first. Anyhow, its No-Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake - delicious! And much easier than making cheesecake that you bake, I'm certain.

And now for some more randomness: Editing photos. I posted this one below in my Girl and Yellow Flowers post. Later I edited it on this thing called "Photo Gallery" and that's the next one. It's WAY better. You don't have to have Photoshop to make your pictures look a few degrees more professional. ;)

I've been memorizing Psalm 67. The verses above are part of it. :) Memorizing verses is a good way to preserve God's word.

Well, I possibly might post the outcome of the self photo-shoot I just did... It depends. Its a bit harder than taking other people's, as you can imagine. ;)
Perhaps I'll be posting again soon...

  1. Oh my goodness ... that bowl and pitcher! And those shoes!! And that book!! And cheesecake!! Eep! I just love this whole post! :D

Those shoes are seriously adorable; you must wear them sometime and send me a picture!

And I've heard of that book! I think Mary Moore is a good author. You'll have to let me know if it's good read! :)

Fun stuff. It looks like you've been getting some great deals at Goodwill. Isn't that store the best?? ^_^

Awesome!! That's so true! I sort of memorized Philippians 4:4-7, but I sort of had it memorized already too, from reading it so many times I guess! :)

Oh, you must post your self photo shoot!! I want to see it! ^_^

And hope you had the happiest of birthdays! God's blessings! <3

  2. I know, aren't they all great? :) The shoes are just wonderful! I could probably even wear them to church.

Tessa found that book. :) I'm glad it could likely be a good. Isn't the cover lovely?
Ooh, yes, Goodwill has been totally great. :D

Memorizing verses is a good thing to do.

I'll probably post the good pictures. :)

We had some delicious sandwiches and that cheesecake on my birthday, and then we watched a Sugar Creek Gang movie. :)

Hope you all are doing well. :)

  3. I just love those boots! I've been wanting ones like those, but all the ones I see in the stores or online are so expensive, I never thought to try Goodwill, maybe I'll do that. :)

  8. Thank you! I'm glad you've been enjoying them. :) Well, I can get the youngest two to do them more often. ;) But the others usually don't want to.
